Fly fishing on the Scaramento River in Redding, Ca. is in full swing and its only going to improve as the rainbows start gorging on bug hatches after the spring spawn.  Today was no exception and Justin had two clients on some productive fishing from Redding to Anderson making for a full day of casting flies.  Although todays clients were already skilled in the art of fly fishing, it should be said that we can accomodate all skill levels on our fly fishing trips.  No long casts are required and fishing with indicators really helps our clients see the bite before actually feeling it.  This really helps our newer folks detect the bites and the end result is more Sacramento River rainbows to the net.  Its a fun and relaxing day anyone is sure to enjoy.  Fly trips are available year round on the Sacramento River in Redding as long as water conditions allow.  With river flows bumping to 8,000 cfs by tomorrow, we'll surely see some really good trout fishing through summer and into fall.  If you've been wanting to learn to fly fish or just catch a big rainbow trout on a fly, we're here to make that experience one you'll likely never forget.  We'll be booking trips through late fall, and with all the salmon headed for the Sacamento River this year, we should experience some above average fishing this year.  Tight lines and we'll see you at the boat launch!

Jeff Goodwin is a full time Northern California fishing guide.  He guides year round for salmon, trout, steelhead, Kokanee, and bass on Northern California rivers and lakes. He fishes many bodies of water in the Redding area, but also guides the Sacramento River and Feather River during certain times of the year. Jeff can also be found on the California coast chasing ocean fresh King salmon and steelhead each year.
