Last Tuesday my client Greg had a great Shasta Lake trip catching over 20 Trout. One week later, the result were much the same, 20 Trout caught and more fish for smoker. Fish size has remained the same with than average size Trout weighing 3 to 4 pounds. Greg's big fish this week was 5 pounds vs 7 pounds last week, but we both saw what had to be a 10 pounder on the line, only to have it jump and spit the hook. Sad quiet moment now that all fisherman know haha!! The Trout remain deep and will stay down until the weather cools off. What did change was the boat traffic Greg and I practically had the lake to ourselves. If you want to get in on the action I highly recommend a mid week trip to Shasta.
