LAKE CONDITIONS
Lake Camanche's current elevation is 200.96 feet above sea level, a drop of .08 feet this week. There is currently no water flowing into Lake Camanche, and water is flowing out of Lake Camanche at 225c.f.s. The surface water temperature at the marina is 49 degrees.??
ATTENTION ALL BOATERS
Due to the growing presence of the invasive Zebra and Quagga mussel in California, we will be conducting mandatory boater interviews and, in some cases, vessel inspections prior to entry. In order to speed up this process, we ask that your vessel's water reservoirs (live wells and bilges) be dry and that the boat hull be clean. We do not anticipate that these procedures will take more than five minutes per vessel but we do strongly encourage you to arrive early to make sure you get on the water as early as possible.
TROUT
The South Shore Pond was definitely the hot area for shore fishing this week at Lake Camanche. On Tuesday Leo Martinez, from San Jose, caught several very nice trout in the Pond including the big fish of the week. He was fishing with orange Power Worms when he landed his lunker, a beautiful 14.65 pound rainbow trout.
Brad Hunkins, from Sutter Creek, caught a couple of nice trout in the Pond while using Wolly Buggers. His big fish weighed in at a hefty 10.85 pounds. Joaquin De Leon and his wife, from Ripon, caught 2 fine limits of trout in the Pond this week also. They were casting with Rapala lures, including Fire Tiger color, and had fish at 12.43 pounds, 10.05 pounds, and 6.74 pounds.
Trollers in the main lake had some awesome fish this week also. John Woodring, from Oakley, caught his limit of trout in 3 hours while trolling near the dam. He was using a white grub, and his big fish was 8.9 pounds. He said most of his fish hit when he was making his turns.
This week's trout plant of 1,200 pounds of beautiful Mt. Lassen hatchery trout will be at North Shore launch ramp.
BASS
We would like to thank the Riverbank Bass Anglers for holding their club meet here at Lake Camanche on Sunday. They had 17 boats go out, and they caught 55 bass total for their club. We congratulate Jason Remmers for his winning weight of 12.73 pounds, and we also congratulate Leo Tyrrel for his big fish at 4.26 pounds. Leo said he caught his big fish near the dam, in about 10 feet of water, on a watermelon Brush Hog. Drop shot worms, jigs, and rip baits were the most commonly mentioned lures.
