It was another good week of fishing here, highlighted by a new lake record red ear. Dave Widger of Atascadero set the bar at 2.99lbs, and reported that the fish ate a hair jig. The crappie bite is still hot for those trolling small spinners, and minnow imitations. Still fishing a mini jig/ crappie nibble combo under a bobber has been the best bet from shore. Bass action has been good most of the week, as fish to 9lbs. were checked into the marina last week. Shad imitations, drop shot, and jigs all took fish, all over the lake. Catfish still available for those who soak cut mackerel in shallow coves.

Bass fishing good in most areas of the lake. Swimbaits, rip baits, and jigs all produced fish to 6lbs. last week. Crappie action still good early and late on mini jig/ nibble combos under a bobber. Bass fishing has been good on any type of shad imitation, as the largies have been moving up into shallow water locales. Garret Manion of Paso Robles got the big fish of the week which checked in at 7Ibs. Manion also had a 6, and 5 as well this last Sunday.
