GENERAL CONDITIONS
Trout fishing is usually great here at Chabot, but despite several trout plants fishing remains slow. A couple limits were caught about 3 weeks ago. Water temperature remains in the low 50 and water clarity is about 3 feet visibility.
All of our boats are half off Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursdays!
CATFISH
Catfishing had a rough year here at Chabot. EBRPD planted over a couple thousand pounds of channel catfish into the lake but only a few reports have come in 2015. Typically catfishing this time of the year is fairly slow. Catfishing conditions will improve when the water temperature starts to warm back up.
TROUT
Trout fishing remains slows. The current hotspot is over by Indian Cove using powerbait. EBRPD continues to plant trout about every two weeks. Please be patient and follow our facebook page to keep updated on fishing conditions.
BASS
Bass fishing has been steady for the last several weeks with some bass anglers catching and releasing good numbers. If you do want to try your luck a couple good spots to fish for bass are near the island or in Bass Cove. Please practice catch and release for bass, as they are not stocked into the lake and their population depends on you!
HOURS OF OPERATION
Monday — Sunday
Boat rentals are from 6:30am - 4:00pm
Boats are due in by 5 pm
Hours subject to change based on weather conditions and light levels.
We encourage all anglers to report their stories, comments, or concerns to the Marina. Please email us at swong@calparksco.com. Thanks again for choosing Lake Chabot as your recreation destination.
TEMESCAL
Fishing has been busy at Temescal, with anglers catching fish most days the past two weeks. Trout is still the primary catch, ranging 2- 4 lbs. Most are using Power bait: Chartreuse; mouse tails and cat fish nuggets.
