Water temperature was 73. The recent heat wave has warmed up the bass bite, and anglers have been scoring both from boat and shore. Frogs, blades and drop shot all took their fare share of fish. The best areas have been around the marina, White Oak, and Mackey point. The seemingly endless crappie has subsided, although a handful of nice slabs were taken on mini jigs tipped with crappie nibbles in the White Oak area, as well some main lake points. Local angler Shawn Seitz reported good catfish action once again in the White Oak area of the lake, and checked in 3 nice blue kitties weighing between 7 and 10lbs, on cut mackerel. All other species were no shows.

Most bass were suspended chasing shad, and spinner baits, traps, and swim jigs managed to get a few fish. No...... Read More

Slabs to 2.5 lbs were reported. Bass fishing has been fair to good on jigs, traps and small swimbaits. Buggest fish reported was 6lbs, caught by local angler Brad Sheperd. Sheperd used a fluke to trick that fish. Some red ear also showed in the same locations as the crappie. Catfish still can be...... Read More
