"Today was as good as it gets." Mike Rasmussen with SalmonSacRiver.com reports. Checking in from Yuba City, Ca today Rasmussen reported seeing several hundred striped bass get boated today by other NorCal guides and recreational anglers on the Feather River today. Fishing is limit out action and the grade of bass is a much better average then the Sacramento River has had this season so far. Rasmussen used mainly minnows today to catch his stripers and one white sturgeon of 53.5 inches caught by fishing guide Dave Jacobs, who was on board for their first apearance to the Feather River in several years. Trolling plugs such as P-Line preditors and slow rolling white swim baits also worked well for the linesides. The Northern California fishing guide also noted that the action was so solid that triple and quadruple hook ups were very common on a pass in a good hole while trolling live minnows down stream. All North State fishing guides were coming back to the launch with limits of linesides and smiling faces.
The action on the Feather River by all acounts appears to look as though it should remain stable and consistantly good fishing in the week to come. I urge readers to not waist any time and book a trip with a local striper guide as fishing like this is not around every year. The action is absolutely lights out and extreemly fun for all anglers no matter age, or skill level. Mike Rasmussen owner of SalmonSacRiver.com has availabilities to take more groups on this amazing striper bite through afternoon guided fishing trips and through fishing guide John Pearl who has just started taking striped bass trips in the Sacramento Valley, depending on his tournament schedual for bass fishing here in California. Rasmussen and Pearl can be reached at (530) 722-8876 or on one of the website links on this page. Get out and enjoy this amazing fishing while it last....
Mike has called Northern California home his whole life. Fishing the streams of the eastern sierras for trout and the Russian river for steelhead as a young boy, his passion for fishing and the outdoors consumed his childhood as knowledge was gained. Attending high school in Corning, Ca, Mike also spent a great deal of time on the banks of the Sacramento river, chasing Salmon, Steelhead, American Shad and Striped Bass. Mike was fortunate enough to have been taught by some experienced guides that have since passed. Now a guide himself over the last decade, he prides himself on providing a comfortable, fun and enjoyable experience for all those he guides. You will not find another guide in Northern California as devoted as Mike and that spends the amount of time on the water as he does. It definitely shows at the end of the day when the fish are counted.
