Lake Conditions
Lake Camanche's current elevation is 177.81 as of 05/06/15. Water temperature at the launch ramp is approximately 70 degrees. The inflow from Lake Pardee is currently 11 c.s.f. and the outflow from Lake Camanche is currently 230 c.s.f. The flow into Camanche varies from 11 cfs to 800 cfs. as EBMUD generates electricity from Pardee's flow. At this time they turn on two of the three generating units periodically during the week. Each unit can deliver 400 cfs, thus the 11-800 cfs range.
1,200 lbs of Mt. Lassen Trout was planted last Thursday 4/30/15 with 600 lbs. dropped at the South Shore Pond and 600 lbs. in the lake at North Shore. Water temperatures still holding at 70 degrees.
Catfish are starting to get hot with good size cats being pulled in from the cove around the North Shore boat launch Day Use Area. Trout and Bass are strong too although the bass anglers are as tight lipped as ever. Trout are being hauled in from out North of the dam, off the Hat Island area and of course the pond. Bass boats are spotted off the South West side of the lake just outside the newer coves and by the rock wall in the narrows. Reported baits this week were Catfish: chicken liver and rapala lure, Trout: 30′ to 60′ feet down, anything garlic flavored, power worms and nightcrawler on a water dodger, Bass: sorry not reported.
David Garcia with his 6.49 lb. Catfish caught near the North shore launch ramp off the Day Use Area using a rapala lure on 4/29.
Gary Garrison from Camanche with his 7.9 lb catfish using a rapala lure at the North Shore Day Use Area by the launch side on 4/29.
Ron Parker on 5/4 reeled in this 8.48 lb trout from the pond using a power worm.
