The warmer weather heated up the action this pass week, with all the species making a showing, Bass have started to move uo, and are taking reaction baits, as well as jigs, and worms. Big fish was an 8.3 caought on a swimjig. Bob Holder of Atascadero and Family went out Sunday for a mixed bag of quality fish, led by 4 yr old Amber Holder with a giant 18.5 channel cat. Mr. Holder and crew also had several spotted bass, the largest tipped the scales at 5.5 lbs, as well as a handful of nice crappie. Top offering for the kitties was cut mackerel, while crappie came out of mini jigs tipped with a crappie nibble.

Santa Margarita LakeCatfish have been showing for shore anglers, led by a 17lb. giant taken by Ike and Ernestine Davis of Inglewood. They also had a nice stringer of bluegill. The bait of choice has been red worms and nightcrawlers. Some bass also being caught on live worms as well, although fishing artificials has been a bit tough, probably due to rapidly cooling water temps.
