Sorry folks, I have been having to get ready for winter myself the last few weeks and I am nearly finished so it won't be long before I get out fishing once again.

The ramps are still open at this time however many docks have already been pulled out of the water. Warmer overnight temperatures the next few days will help keep the ramps from freezing over too quickly but a few cold nights can change everything.

If you plan on coming a long distance to fish this time of year, I always suggest being prepared to fish from the shore if you have a small boat. Late fall and early winter storms can prevent boats from getting out on the water and can ruin a day of fishing. Being prepared can save the day for many and can be productive.

Also consider that the roads can be icy in the early morning hours so be careful getting here.

We have overcast skies today and a slight chance of a shower but so far no rain has actually hit the ground. Our humidity is high having started out at 80% this morning it has settled to around 55% which is still rather high for us. The clouds are expected to stay for a few days. Wednesday we are expecting to see a little sun before the next series of clouds come in later this week. We only have a slight chance of precipitation but the lake can make it's own weather when conditions are right.

We currently have a southeast wind and are expecting more wind through the week but gusts (at this time) are not supposed to exceed 15 mph. But, that will add a wind chill to the predicted temperatures that are around 50 for the next couple of days. Our low temperatures are expected to be in the low 30's however, we have been several degrees lower than what has been predicted all year. Expect temps in the mid to high 20's for the early morning (O-dark-thirty) bite.

The mornings have been fairly calm but the wind has been coming up early the last couple of days.

Thick fog the last two days. Be sure to have a GPS just in case. The fog starts to lift and burn off around 10 AM and it can take a while for the whole lake to clear up. Be careful. Just because you know where you are going doesn't mean the other boats out there do. Slow down! Water Temperature DFG will not have water tests through December this year so the pH is the last reading is from September As of...... Read More
