Lake Nacimiento hosted the WON Bass Western Classic this month. The Classic is??their year-end tournament where some of the best anglers in the state compete for a Ranger bass boat and other great prizes and lots of cash! The 2 day event was won by Mike Tuck, a pro??from northern California. That this tournament was held on Naci speaks highly for our lake, especially considering that it hasn't been this low in quite some time.

Speaking of water levels, it's been stable for several weeks now and will remain so for the rest of the season and the fishing has been great as a result. Yesterday I was out and caught 20 fish using a drop-shot setup in 12-19' of water. We also caught several fish on wacky Senkos under floating structure. A friend caught a 3+ spotted bass this week on a crankbait, there was one the same size chasing his to the boat! He caught 12 other fish on Texas rigged worms 20' deep.

I absolutely love this time of year, it's quiet and peaceful and??the bigger fish start showing up, eager to fill their bellies for the winter ahead. Come on out and catch one like this!
