Baum Lake Fish Report

Baum Lake - Cassel, CA (Shasta County)

by Nor Cal Fish Reports
3-5-2014

Great conditions for fishing Baum this week. This wet weather and cloudy skies trend is perfect. Water conditions are always ideal on Baum. This body of water holds many, many rainbows that eat buggers, #20 midges, #18 PT nymphs and BWO dries. Good fishing can be found here. Use a pontoon boat, float tube or pram.

Anglers are doing best on dark #18-20 midge patterns, #18 red Copper Johns suspended under small indicators. Best BWO hatches happen on overcast days. Leeches in black have been working too. The Fly Shop (530) 222-3555
