Upper Sacramento River Fish Report

Sacramento River - Upper - Siskiyou, CA (Siskiyou County)

Best fishing happens in the AM hours and tapers after 12:00 PM. Then near sunset, we get a pretty good dry fly session that lasts until dark along the upper half of the river. The mornings offer caddis hatches and a sparse number of baetis in #16-18. A black midge pattern is a good nymph right now along the entire river. Cutters E/C Caddis, a big Stimulator or Golden Stone Adult are solid dry flies for the evening hatch. You can find a decent Stone Fly hatch up near Ney Springs near sunset.  www.jacktrout.com, (530) 926-4540. The Fly Shop (530) 222-3555
