A lake 13.47-pound lake record largemouth was caught Saturday by Kenny Sims of Bakersfield. Sims used a Strike King crankbait near the dam. Sims’ fish broke the record of 13.33 set in 2008. Scott West of Morro Bay on Friday fell just short of the record when he caught a 12.4 bass. Aside from the quality bass fishing, crappie and panfish catches also are getting better. (805) 438-1522
