April 30th Lake Camanche received the last 1,200 pounds of Mt. Lassen Rainbow Trout for the season. Water temperatures are too high to safely release the trout. All 1,200 lbs were release in the South shore pond.


Weekly Weather

Mid to upper 70's forecasted through the week with temps getting into the 80's by the weekend. Mostly sunny with a few clouds and overnight temps in the lower to upper 50's. Local Weather can be viewed at: www.weather.


Of the few anglers that brought in their catches to us reported their most popular baits were grubs and powerbait. Anglers at the pond were still using powerbait and worms.Trolling out by the dam for trout is still very popular and the bass anglers are fishing near the small islands and going up river.


LAKE CONDITIONS

Lake Camanche's current elevation is 195.45 ft. above sea level. Water temperature at the launch ramps is approximately 60 degrees and the lake is 41% full. The inflow from Lake Pardee is currently 11 c.s.f. and the outflow from Lake Camanche is currently 326 c.s.f.

Most popular baits reported this on the lake this week were rapala lures, 4" rubber worms, sinko and crank bait. Folks at the pond were using powerbait, worms and orange mouse tails. Trolling out by the dam for trout brought one fisherman a crappie while casting for bass brought another fisherman a good size catfish down the river. Great week for fishing! Spotted and large mouth bass along with trout were the top reported catches this week. Bass were pulled in all along the Narrows, the Lancha Plana bridge area, down the river and out off of Eucalyptus near the new island.
