The upper Trinity River is starting to see salmon stacking up in the holes. Some of the fish are getting dark. The counts at the wier are still good with a number of salmon, steelhead and German Browns. I had the pleasure of going to the Sacramento above Red Bluff for the salmon opener. Yesterday there were 70 boat in Barge Hole. Today there were only 3 boats. That sounds good right? We were on the water at 5:00 a.m . Our fish fish at 5:30, a nice 4+lbs rainbow. The day looked to be good, not another bite after that. Everyone we talked to did not have any fish. A fun trip, but can only get better. I am booking Sacramento salmon trips. Please watch your newsletter for a special on the Sacramento. It will only come to you if you have signed up for it.
