Smith River Steelhead Fishing Continues!
The 2013 fishing season is off to a great start, with giant Smith River steelhead being caught just about every day.

There are some really nice bright chrome fish coming into the system. There were reports of a 23 pound steelhead caught earlier this month.

The Smith River puts out the biggest steelhead in the state of California, with fish over 20 pounds being caught on a regular basis.

The Smith River rises and falls quickly with rainfall, as it's a fast-clearing river. When it hasn't rained for a few days, it can get low and clear, and we'll drop down to an 8-pound P-Line fluorocarbon leader. Catching these giant steelhead on light line is an absolute blast! The steelhead fishing should stay good into early March.

Striper Season Is Coming Up Soon
The striper season will be beginning soon, and based on recent years, this should be a good season. It's an ideal trip for the whole family, and stripers are delicious eating too.

Spring Fishing Classic at Bass Pro Shop
This weekend (Friday February 22 to Sunday February 24, 2013) is the big Spring Fishing Classic event at Bass Pro Shops in Manteca. The SFC will be continuing on March 2-3, and March 9-10. There will be lots of seminars, events, demos, kid's fishing pools, specials, and fishing experts.

Kevin will be giving Spring Striper seminars on Saturday, March 2 at 4 pm, and Sunday, March 3 at 2 pm. If you get a chance, come on by and say hello!
