Weekly Weather
North Shore & South Shore
Mostly sunny all week then partly cloudy by the weekend with highs in the mid to high 50's and lows in the mid to high 30's.
Lake News:
Annual Day Use Passes (with or without vessels) are available year round and are good for 12 months! Don't forget, if you are disabled or a senior (62yrs or older), you get your annual pass at half off the regular price! Stop by either gate or marina store to get yours today.
Fish Plants:
Mt. Lassen Trout delivered 600 lbs to the South shore pond and 600 lbs to the South shore and 600 lbs to the North shore ramp on Wednesday, December 26th.
FISHING REPORT:
The lake level is rising steadily due to the winter rains and snow in the Sierras. Top lining (10 to 15 feet) is still the way to go with power baits (garlic and rainbow being the favorites) as well as Kastmaster lures, white glitter marshmallows, and night crawlers as baits of choice.
7 year old Xavier Marquez of San Leandro caught a nice 2 lb 10 oz trout out of the main lake while using rainbow power bait. Tom Yokoi of Sacramento caught a 5.8 lb trout off the North shore day use area near the Peninsula while bank fishing using garlic scented power bait. 8 year old Jose Yanez of Stockton caught a 5.38 lb off the North shore Peninsula while bank fishing using power bait even though he originally lost his fishing rod in the lake while still hooked to the fish. After using another fishing rod, they managed to pull out the original rod, fish included. Way to go Jose!
