WEEKLY WEATHER
North Shore & South Shore
Beautiful weather with highs in the high 80's to low 90's and lows in the high 50's to low 60's. Weather info courtesy ofwww.weather.com.
FISHING REPORT
Fishing in general, has been better on weekdays as opposed to weekends as there are less people in the park and in the water. The unofficial end of summer and impending cooler weather should bring trout closer to the surface, especially in the early hours.
Trout are still being caught but at much greater depths due to the heat. Most anglers are reporting luck at about 45 feet or deeper.
Have you ever seen trout being planted at the lake? Check out our Facebook page under "VIDEOS" and see clips from the last 2 years. Videos were taken at the North shore ramp.
Catfish like stinky bait. Cut bait, chicken livers, cheese and night crawlers are some of the most common baits used. It's always a good idea to have a few choices available and switch them up if you aren't getting any bites. Still not catching catfish? Try another location.
HINT: Fresh chicken liver holds on the hook better than frozen which tends to get mushy when thawed.
HOURS OF OPERATION
Both stores are open 7 days a week.
Camanche Recreation Area is open 365 days a year. Gate hours are 5:00 am - 11:00 pm
