Trout
Trout are still biting on PowerBait, worms or a worm/power egg combo. Since the lake temperature is rising, it's best to cast deep. Shore fishing had been good at Oaks Point, and the boat launch. If trolling, use a Fire Tiger Rapala or a Needlefish about 25 feet deep from the Rock Wall into Scow Canyon and to Sandy Point.
Bass
Black bass are good on jerk baits, spinner baits, jigs and swim baits worked shallow early in the day then from 10 to 15 feet in the weeds later in the day. Black bass are good on green pumpkin plastic worms and lizards and fire tiger crank baits from 6 to 10 feet. Fish early in the morning and late in the evening for the best results bouncing tubes , lazards and Brush Hawgs in watermelon and green pumpkin colors has worked well for Black Bass.
Smallmouth Bass are good on Zara Spooks and 3 inch swim baits off the main lake points and from mid-lake to the dam early in the morning. Largemouth bass are good on Texas-rigged worms and jig-headed worms; watermelon seed, green pumpkin and waermelon candy are the best colors.
Catfish
Catfish strikes have started to pick up. We have seen a few come in from Scow Canyon, the Pines, Sobrante Point and at the boat launch. As water temperature continues to rise, we will continue to see more catfish.
