Marina hours are 7 am to 5 pm with the park hours 7 am to 6 pm. Our last two Trout plants yield some very impressive fish. The December 21st plant was from Desert Springs Rainbow Trout farm in Oregon of 950 lbs. and our December 30th plant was from Mt. Lassen of 1000 lbs. Our fishermen have been using a wide range of bait, Power bait Eggs in Whte, Rainbow, Pink and Green along with Berkley Gulp Floating Worms in Fluorescent colors. Powerbait Yellow Corn, Spring Green, Rainbow with Glitter, Sherbet, and Fluorescent colors with or without Glitter. Kastmasters, Rupalas, Walley Divers, Pencil Poppers, Yan-Yan-Yan, Panther Martin and Berkley Power Bait Trout Attractant and Trout Dip in Corn and Rue and of course Night Crawlers. If you plan on boating, early is best! As a reminder, we have a half off special on all boats on an all day boat rental every Wednesday.
Jeff Allen of Santa Cruz and Kenny Khu of Livermore caught 8 trouts with the stringer weighing 14 lbs. the largest weighing 4 lbs. using a yan-yan-yan on 12/23/10. Joseph Martinez of San Jose caught a 4 lb. 13 oz. Trout using a Rapala at the Dam on 12/24/10. Don Lienhart of San Jose caught a 4 lb. 13 oz. Trout using a Rainbow Runner in the Narrows on 12/27/10. Joe Loas of Hollister caught 6 trouts the largest weighing 1 lb. 8 oz. using a Panther Martin and a Rapala at the Dam on 12/27/10. Tom Trujillo of Tracy caught 2 trouts with the stringer weighing 3 lbs. 14 oz., the largest weighing 1 lb. 8 oz. using Power Bait in Green and Yellow at the Dam on 12/27/10. David Heist of Livermore caught 3 trouts the largest weighing 5 lbs. using Whte Power Bait in the East Beach on 12/28/10. Scott Grow of Oakland caught an 11 lbs. trout using Powerbait worms and eggs in Bubblegum Pink in the Lower Narrows on 12/29/10. Brian Jellin of San Ramon caught a 3 lbs. trout left of the Marina using Power Bait worms and eggs in Bubblegum Pink on 12/29/10. Jonathan Ring of Concord caught a 10 lbs. 12 oz. Striper using Night Crawlers on 12/21/10.
