Clear and mild today and Saturday, clouds and the possibility of some rain by Sunday with some wind gusty at times.

Sounds like some rain will be moving in, the forecast calls for clouds and some rain on and off till midweek. Look for daytime temperatures in the mid 50's and 60's and 40's in the evening for the weekend and beyond. Lake level remains the same as last report and is now approximately 18 feet below spill. Water temperatures warmed a little, 50 degrees at 20 feet and 54 at surface. Water clarity is good to 15 feet with no debris.

Bank Fishing- Blue Herron Point, the parking lot bank behind TomSawyerIsland, the Island itself and the Launch Ramp are the most popular spots again this week. Pink power worms are the hot bait, with wooly boogers and Kastmasters good right after the plant.

Trolling-----Methods, depths and baits remain unchanged. Anglers are still flat lining, using 3 to 4 colors of lead core or drift fishing the River starting at Columbia Gulch and going up as far as Indian Rock. Good size holdover Trout in the 3 to 6 lb range have been reported recently. The cold water is keeping the fish within 10 feet of the surface, so no need to go deep. Small spoon or needlefish type lures in pink or florescent orange/red tipped with a night crawler, grub or power worm behind small flashers, dodgers or sidekicks in silver/green work well.

Recent success stories-----Jack Bettencourt of Elk Grove got this 11.98 lb German Brown in the River Arm using an orange broken back Rapala. Jim Cooper and Aaron Hartley both from Burson got these good size trout using Uncle Larry's and a broken back Rapala. Jimmy St. Paul of Los Gatos also got a beautiful Brown weighing in at 11.7 lbs using an orange Rapala at the face of the Dam in 9 feet of water!

California Department of Fish and Game has planted 3000 lbs of fish in addition Pardee Lake Inc has planted 28,000 lbs of trout with more plants scheduled for the near future.
