Spring conditions, clear blue skies, green grass and the Lake surface like glass.

The forecast calls for daytime temperatures in the mid 70's and 50's in the evening for the weekend and beyond. Lake level is unchanged from last week and is now approximately 15 feet below spill. Water temperatures also remain unchanged, 48 degrees at 20 feet and 52 at surface. Water clarity has greatly improved and is presently good to 17 feet with no debris visible.

Bank Fishing- Blue Herron Point, the parking lot bank behind TomSawyerIsland and the Launch Ramp are the most popular spots this morning. The hot baits remain power bait (eggs, worms and paste), night crawlers and Kastmasters. The best colors for power bait have been orange, pink and white along with the silver/blue combination for the Kastmaster.

Trolling-----The most productive area for boaters remains the same again this report. Anglers are still flat lining, using 3 to 4 colors of lead core or drift fishing the River starting at Columbia Gulch and going up as far as Indian Rock. Good size holdover Trout in the 3 to 6 lb range have been reported recently. The cold water is keeping the fish within 10 feet of the surface, so no need to go deep. Small spoon or needlefish type lures in pink or florescent orange/red tipped with a night crawler, grub or power worm behind small flashers, dodgers or sidekicks in silver/green work well.

The California Department of Fish and Game has planted 3000 lbs of fish in addition Pardee Lake Inc has planted 23,000 lbs of trout with more plants scheduled for the near future.
