Trolling a bit better than Bank fishing this week.

The forecast calls for clouds with a chance of rain today and throughout the weekend, temps in the high 50s low 60s.Lake level looks about the same as last report or perhaps a foot lower, so 15 to 16 feet below spill. Water temperatures are 48 degrees at 20 feet and 52 at surface. Water clarity is still good to 12 feet with no debris visible.

Bank Fishing-The cove behind the Marina has cooled off once the planters left about mid-week. Lots of anglers stationed on Stony Point Landing, Blue Herron Point and behind the EBMUD boathouse this morning. The banks have slowed down a bit, this may be due to the low water level in the Recreation Area that is encouraging the planters to head out to the main body of the Lake sooner than normal. Bank fishing will improve with the plant scheduled for the weekend. The hot baits continue to be power worms in every color but brown (orange and chartreuse were particularly successful), silver/blue Kastmasters and black woolly buggers...

Trolling-----More good reports from boaters flat lining and drift fishing the River at Columbia Gulch as far as Indian Rock. Good size Trout and some German Browns to 4 pounds have been reported recently. The fish are within 10 feet of the surface this time of year due to the cold water temperatures. Small spoon or needlefish type lures in red, pink and fire tiger patterns tipped with a night crawler, grub or power worm behind small flashers , dodgers or sidekicks in silver/green work well.

Recent Success stories-----No photos, exaggerated stories or out and out lies shared with the Marina Staff this week, be sure to stop by and have your picture taken so we can post your fishing successes on our web site. Congratulations to all-well done!

The California Department of Fish and Game has planted 1000 lbs of fish in addition Pardee Lake Inc has planted 13,000 lbs of trout with more plants scheduled for the near future.
