Shasta Lake continues to produce some quality trout day in and day out so far this winter season.  The lake conditions are prime rt now and will hold up through the forseeable future.  I've been fishing the top 10' of the lake with the best success daily.  I have sampled deeper water but its just not paying off most days I fish.  Side pleners pulling broken back Rapalas or spoons in the 2 1/2" - 3" size have been the most productive.  2.8 mph has been my most consistent trolling speed to attract bites.  Not much will likely change in the coming weeks except we'll see more and more trout coming to the net as we head into February and March.  Every year we land some of our biggest brown trout in February and march making it the best time to target trophy size browns.  We'll catch some big rainbows during this time too, like we did today, but the browns are our target species.  February dates are filling and March dates are always very popular so we expect to have limited dates available again this year.  Call Jaynie at (530) 510-2925 for more information and available dates!
