Nacimiento Lake held at 53 percent of its storage capacity and warmer weather helped the bite. Bass anglers did well with finesse baits, crankbaits, and small swimbaits. Drop shot, darter head grubs, and Ned rigs all took fish in the 15-to-30-foot zone with natural shad, green pumpkin, and purple colors fooling fish. Small swimbaits slow rolled along the bottom saw plenty of grabs, and deep diving crankbaits fooled fish on rocky points. Spoons and tail spinners took bass in deeper water. White bass fell for spoons and swimbaits. Catfish anglers landed fish while using cut mackerel and dip bait. Crappie anglers reported better fishing with small live minnows and minijigs.
