The lake held at 53 percent of the it’s storage capacity, and surface water temperatures remained in the upper fifties. Fishing has been fair at Naci with bass anglers working deep for bites. Finesse baits like drop shot, Ned rigs, and small jigs took fish in the 15 to 40 foot zone. Baitfish, brown, and purple colors fooled largemouth and spotted bass. Anglers working spoons vertically hooked bass after locating school of fish with their electronics. Heddon Sonars, tailspins, and spoons all got bites in deeper water. White bass fell for vertical spoons and spinners too. Catfish anglers reported catching fish with garlic nightcrawlers and dip baits, and crappie only wanted small live minnows.
