The DFWL stocked trout here again this week throughout the 20-mile stretch. Anglers have been faring well with limits reported using salmon eggs, jigs, pinched crawlers, and crickets. Fly anglers have been doing well with nymphs and dry-dropper combos. The Upper Kern was stocked this week in Section 4; Riverside Park in Kernville to Powerhouse #3; Section 5, Fairview Dam to Lazy River Lodge; and Section 6, Fairview Dam to Johnsondale Bridge. In the Lower Kern River, trout have been showing in Keysville with trout jigs and spinners. The largemouth and smallmouth bass bite is solid with small crankbaits, jigs, and spinners. Catfish can be found on dip baits, nightcrawlers and cut baits. At the time of reporting, the Upper Kern River was flowing at 250 CFS and the Lower Kern River was flowing at 282 CFS.
