I have started my steelhead season on the trinity River in Northern California, a short drive west of Redding California, this is a great fishery to harvest hatchery steelhead, October through February is the very best time. 2 hatchery steelhead per angler, we typically have 10 to 15 fish days with steelhead ranging from 6 to 10lbs on ultra light spinning rods or fly fishing.
