The 5.5 miles of the Sacramento River below Keswick dam is now open!  The world famous Posse Grounds and Sundial Bridge areas of the lower Sacramento opened today and the fishing was good but not great.  This section of the Sacramento River is often times referred to as the HOLY WATER and holds healthy populations of big rainbow trout!  Boat pressure was relatively light compared to other 8/1 openers I've experienced but we're seeing a lot of that lately.  The fishing was good for both side drifting and plug pulling.  I did see some fly anglers hooking up as well.  Flows are high at 13,000 cfs but water color is real good and runnung around 51 degrees.  This section of the Sac will now remain open daily until April 1st at which time it will close again.  This is definitely our favorite section of the Sac and it generally provides our very best trout fishing most days of the season.  We have available dates for guided fishing trips for 1-6 anglers from now until the end of the year.  If you'd like to catch some beautiful wild rainbow trout this year, give Jaynie a call at (530) 510-2925 for more information and available dates.  Thank you!
