Water Conditions

Flows on the Little Truckee River have decreased from the previous week. The current flow on the Little Truckee between Boca and Stampede is approximately 160 CFS. The water temperature ranges from 62 to 65 degrees depending on the time of day. Since this river is a cold tailwater, the fish are thriving and active.

Tips for the Week

This week, dry fly fishing is the name of the game on the Little Truckee River. With good hatches presenting most of the day, anglers have plenty of opportunities for bites using dry flies. The best bite window for dry flies on the Little Truckee River is from 8am to 10am and 7pm to 9pm.

Suggested Flies

Some fly favorites to try on the Little Truckee River this week are EC Caddis, Parachute Adams, Griffins Gnat, Daves Hopper, Elk Hair Caddis, Little Yellow Sallies, Pale Morning Duns, Blue Winged Olives, or Midges.
