The rapid rise in water levels left some anglers scratching their heads. At the time of reporting the lake held at nearly 61 percent of capacity. Smallmouth suspended in 5 to 30 feet of water which made weightless Senkos in green pumpkin, watermelon, and natural shad good options. Small finesse baits and minijigs took plenty of smaller grade bass too. Crappie went after small live shiners, minijigs, and small swimbaits near submerged brush and rockpiles, and catfish anglers threw chicken liver and dip bait for a few whisker fish.
