Today was our maiden voyage for the 2024 rockfish/lingcod season, the forecast was calling for some bump in the morning hours so “Tug” ended up with couch duty. The weather got nice by the time we got to the fishing grounds and our first drops produced an exceptional bite of reds. We found some lingcod by late morning and our 21 anglers finished the day with 210 rockfish and 40 lingcod before most of the gang pooped out. The remainder of the April season is going to be outside 300’ of water so our trips will be weather dependent so keep an eye on our schedule and I’ll try and post weather updates.
