In the Upper Kern, the high flows pushing 7000 CFS has made it impossible to fish and dangerous. In the Lower Kern, HWY 178 is closed due to a section of the highway sinking from river flow erosion. At the time of reporting, the Upper Kern River is flowing at 6745 CFS and the Lower Kern River is flowing at 7470 CFS.
