Water temp: 60 degrees in am
63 degrees in pm
Water clarity: 1 to 3 feet
Lake Shasta is slowly starting to climb again. Usually anywhere from .50 to .75 a day. Operable boat ramps are Centimudi boat ramp and Bridge Bay Marina and both are paved but only one lane. Jones valley ramp is about 3/4 to 1 mile of dirt road. Launch is still dirt with no dock but launchable.
With the water rising and the lake visibility being down fishing has been very rewarding. Lately you can go out and catch fish on pretty much whatever you want to throw. Matt has been throwing a lot of senkos fishing from 20 to 30 feet deep. Also throwing green pumpkin Zoom trick worms, swimbaits and Keitechs. As far as swimbaits he has been throwing Shasta Bass Baits line thrus and GanCraft glide baits on and around trees.
He has been concentrating a lot on the Pit arm and the Squaw Creek arm everyday. Averaging 40 to 60 fish a day with his best 5 averaging between 11 and 16 pounds. There are a lot of fish in the trees so he has been concentrating on wood. It seems like the timber thats futher out over deeper water are holding less fish but better quality when you do get bit. If you want numbers just run the bank and fish slowly. They will come. Hope this information helps you out on your next trip to Lake Shasta. Tight lines.
