The Upper Kern trout fishing has improved over the last couple days as the water is starting to clear up from the recent storms. Throughout the 20-mile stretch of the Upper Kern, Holdovers and natives are getting more active in the afternoons for midges. The Lower Kern Smallmouth and Largemouth Bass action is steady on small jigs like Get Bent Baits, small crankbaits, and spinners. Catfish can be found on dip baits, nightcrawlers and cut baits. At the time of reporting, the Upper Kern River was flowing at 144 CFS and the Lower Kern River was flowing at 199 CFS.
