The lake fell to 14 percent of capacity, and anglers reported decent fishing last week. Bass anglers used topwater early in the day for some solid action on the spotted bass, and drop shot, darter heads, and jigs have been working in 15 to 30 feet of water later in the day. There have also been reports of good crankbait fishing along bluff walls. White bass have been boiling sporadically throughout the lake, and when they chase the shad to the surface anglers can hook up using topwater, small swimbaits, and spoons. Trolling those same lures has also been effective for the white bass. Catfish anglers reported decent fishing using dip bait, mackerel, and chicken liver, and crappie anglers reported fair fishing using small live minnows and crappie jigs in 15 to 20 of water over structure.
