The Sacramento River saw a good return of winter and spring run salmon this year.  These runs are among the smallest returns we see on the Sacramento River every year so a strong showing of our smaller runs is a good predictor for this years fall salmon run thats starting to fill the lower Sacramento River now.  Captain Justin Thompson has been fishing salmon trips just about daily now and states he's seeing good numbers of salmon already in the areas hes been fishing.  Its early in the season so numbers of salmon coming to the net each day will vary.  Drifting eggs has been the best presentation since the floating debris in the river has made plug fishing a bit cumbersome with fouled lines and plugs.  Thats not to say plug fishing isn't effective, but it is limiting the amount of time your lures can be fished effectively.  One way or another, we're doing what it takes to get the bites we hope for.  We are excited about this years Sacramento River King salmon season and by looking at our schedules, so are our clients!  Many of the groups that fished with us last season booked their 2021 King salmon trip(s) before getting off of our boats last year.  This has left us with fewer available dates for this seasons salmon fishing trips.  Jaynie has been working hard to get our schedules aligned so we can accomodate as many trip requests as possible.  If you haven't had a chance to book your 2021 King salmon fishig trip(s) this year, give Jaynie a call at the office and she'll do what she can to get your group scheduled.  (530) 510-2925- Thank you!
