Fishing is still good at Stampede, but the water levels are low. The best Kokanee bite at Stampede right now is between 4 and 7 in the morning. Anglers should use pink squids, glow hoochies, or dick knight spoons tipped with shoepeg corn behind a watermelon, orange or glow dodger. Anglers trolling for rainbows and cutthroats are having success with rapalas, lyman lures, kastmasters, and worms. With the warm weather here, smallmouth bass have been a good species for anglers to fish. Anglers fishing bass should focus near any rocky point outcropping or near the dam. The water levels are lower than normal this year, so be cautious when launching any boats.
Stampede Reservoir is currently at 38% capacity.
