The shad are running causing a feeding frenzy. Catfish, bass and crappie are following that school round and anglers are benefiting from it. The best bass I saw caught was a 9.2 lb. bought in by a friend of the guy show holds the bass lake record. I did not get his name but he used a home made wood carved jointed lure. I am seeing a bunch of people tossing in a dry hook, landing a shad and letting him do the rest. If you pulled out a shad look a like you would have a ball. Weather is great, fishing is fine. The marina store has brought in Savage Gear tackle and strike king to offer more variety so come check it out. Open 7-6 Thursday-Monday. Closed Tuesday & Wednesday.

All in all, Saturday was a great weather day but a slow day of fishing. With all the sunshine in the forecast I imagine this week coming up will be great. Throw a lizard or salamander, drop shot a senko or break out the buzz/chatter baits...... Read More
