Hey Fishermen, IT'S a Wrap, were done, were gone back home to Alaska. Well the Smith River this season had it's moments Some Awesome, some good, some bad and some tragic. Lets go from good to bad. Our King Salmon seasom was awesome, we had water and it provided a lot of great days for the folks who could back bounce. Jeff Gunheim of Point Arena landed 10 in two days including a 47 pound hen. Our Steelhead fishing started off great in Dec. was awesome in Jan and then we went into frezzing drought conditions and we went to the Eel which was epic, Feb was O.K. and March was tough. Some awards to be given Dennis Johanson from San Rafel "Most Improved Caster" Awesome Family of Fishermen" The Glenlivens from Willets those boys made me look good during King season, Steelhead season here, on the Eel it didn't matter them boyz can fish. They whacked em' every trip. Now the down side, the Smith River was not a freindly place this year. I hope it makes everybody think. The river took four peoples lives. One driftboat guide, one long time bank fishermen and two Kayakers. The water is a dangerous place to make a living as well as a place for recreation. Be safe this summer folks. Bless you all. Hey Let's Go Fishin! Come to Alaska, before you all get to old.
