Late fall salmon fishing has been hit and miss, but we're getting bites every trip! Its a day to day thing, but most days we're on the Sacramento River fishing for salmon we're getting chances to land some great fish! Water conditions are still low and clear, but above and below Balls Ferry, we're finding plenty of deep holes to fish for salmon in. The morning bite has been the best bet for a few bites and as the day wears on, the bite slows significantly. We're fishing lures at first light and switching to eggs by late morning if the salmon stop hitting plugs. Rain is in the forecast beginning Friday so we may see a little improvement in the bite after Christmas.
