We ran a shark trip today sponsored by Phenix rods. One of just a handful of shark trips I had on the books for this season.
We broke up the day and fished for halibut when the tide was running hard.
Top fish on the day won a Phenix Abyss 808.
We also fought a monster 7gill for 2 hours and 10 min. The fish weighed in roughly at 325 pounds (estimated weight) he was cut loose and swam off.
Final count

14 seven Gill sharks to 325 pounds
9 halibut

I have a potluck trip for rockfish lings and halibut going out in the am with lots of room.
