Loch Lomond is now closed for the season, but the fishing was very good for those few anglers pursuing bass or bluegill at the lake last week. Loch Lomond did not need any chemical algae treatments this year, and experienced visitors feel this preserved a greater abundance of juvenile fish this season. Next year the fishing should be fantastic at this beautiful local lake. Those willing to travel would do well to visit the Lower Klamath River right now. King salmon and a good number of smaller steelhead are being reported from that location. Alpine lakes and the Sacramento River are all producing good trout counts, and the fall bite is on at lower elevation lakes such as Eagle Lake and Almanor.
