Today we fished Shasta Lake and found a descent morning bite while hunting big brown trout and rainbow trout. Good friend and mentor Stan Kulak and his associate, Clyde Orr of Torr Industries, came out to run some Optimizer spoons, including one of Stans new colors. The color test didn't take long and we had a nice rainbow take the new #3 Optimizer off our downrigger set at 20'. We hit another nice rainbow on a custom color Optimizer I have success with, and soon after hooked a nice brown trout on my favorite Bay Rat color right now. Another great day in the Shasta Lake archives!
