Today we fished Shasta Lake and found a rainbow bite today. Its been a crazy week on Shasta and for most, fishing has been tough. Water conditions are still changing and we're seeing early fall conditions which has these fish running all over. There is still a lot of bait throughout the lake and the trout are looking pretty content with their diets right now. Its definitely not in the state of a typical winter pattern. We're still seeing the best bite up top and the Bay Rat Lures are definitely a stand out bait right now. I trolled on the slower side today, I just dont think the trout are chasing fast moving baits right now. Stable weather should help the bite in the coming weeks and so will a bit more cool water in the lake.
