Today we fished Shasta Lake and once again, one of our father/son clients caught his personal best brown trout making for a memorable day for sure. It only took him 82 years, but better late than never as the saying goes. Slower bite, but admittedly, we were looking for a bigger variety of fish anyways. I think the weather change may have slowed things down a bit, but we got off the water at around 11:00 so if there was a late bite we wouldnt have known about it anyway. LOTS of bait showing now and the trout are showing up in even bigger numbers to gorge themselves on Shad. Shasta a great option for fishing rt now and has definitely taken center stage here in the Redding area! Fish 40-60' near shore for best results.
