Hi everyone, I hope your fall is full of color and thanksgiving.  I want to take this time to wish all of you and your families a wonderful Thanksgiving. It seems time is flying by as we are almost to Dec. and Christmas is just around the corner.

I wanted to keep you updated on lake Oroville as it changes from day to day.  The work being done on the spillway is right on schedule and the lower half is completed.  They are now working on the portion of the dam that was compromised from the overflow.  There are now areas where they have poured 150 feet thick of concrete and the new section of the spillway is now 8 feet thick with considerable amounts of re-bar. It is not going anywhere with those specifications.

On the lake , the water temps are falling and the lake is rising.  A very good thing as the lake turns over the bigger bass start coming up .This last week the lake rose almost 10 feet and that means we are 17 feet from having Lime Saddle Ramp open again at the elevation of 707 feet.  Numbers of bass are running a bit behind last year but still plenty of them and their sizes also getting bigger.

Many of the bass are coming shallow and down to 20-30- feet. Still a lot of bass are hanging deeper but will come up as the water cools.  Current temps range from upper 50’s to 60 degrees. Bites are coming from a variety of baits. Drop-shot, dart/head worms, senko’s, jigs, tubes, and as the water gets below 55 degrees the float n fly.  Top water bites have slowed way down but still could get a bite in the right place.

Here are a few of the Fall highlights; first is John Mc Guire , second is Brian Dunham and Gene Wong, next is Mark and Brian Gangler, next is Tony Nargi, next is Mary and Clark Masters, next is Gaylord Enns with grandsons, Gabe,Eli and Tristen, next is Herb Wolff and John Leija and last is Tim Leung.

I have so much to be thankful for , I hope all of you have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Christmas is coming soon and something to think about may be a gift certificate for someone special. I can have them in the mail in just a couple of days.  Also, Bullards Bar will start to turn on from Dec. on for those supper sized spotted bass.

As always , it is  my pleasure to serve you on our Northern California Lakes.

Best regards,  Ron
