GENERAL CONDITIONS
BOAT LAUNCH FACILITY WILL BE CLOSED FOR REHABILITATION
The boat launch facility will be closed for rehabilitation beginning September 25, 2017, and shall reopen in spring 2018. Improvements will include improvements to the boat launch, paving and striping of the parking area, new vaults toilets, new and relocated fish cleaning station, and new drinking fountains. All other areas of Contra Loma Regional Park shall not be impacted by this construction. This project is made possible through generous grants from the Bureau of Reclamation and the California Department of Boating and Waterways.
TRAILERED BOATS WILL NOT BE ABLE TO LAUNCH.
CARTOP BOAT WILL NEED TO BE CARRIED TO THE WATER FROM ANOTHER PARKING AREA.
CATFISH
Catfishing has been good at the boat ramp area, where accessible, or Channel Point with anchovies, nightcrawlers or chicken livers.
TROUT
Trout fishing is slow right now, but Contra Loma will be getting their first trout plant of the season from Mt. Lassen this week and we expect trout fishing to increase.
BASS
Black Bass have been biting with artificial baits/lures or nightcrawlers anywhere around the lake or from boats. Crank Baits have been working the best.
STRIPED BASS
Try fishing for striped bass at the east side near the dam with artificial baits or lures.
OTHER SPECIES
Crappie or bluegill have been biting with jigs or worms at the Boat Ramp area or Channel point.
