GENERAL CONDITIONS
The weather has been warm to hot and breezy at times.
TROUT
Anglers have been out in droves catching small trout and PB sizes (personal best). Trout pictured below range from 14- 20+ inches. Most if not all anglers are currently using some form of PowerBait. Mouse tails (orange & chartreuse, pink and tan), PowerEggs: orange, combo colors, half color, clear and garlic scented and PowerBait dough in chartreuse color have all proven successful.
The entire lake has been offering good fishing. One hot spot is near the corner around the Big Rock picnic area.
BASS
The bass are spawning, and a big one was recently caught at the north fishing dock (picture on Fishbrain app). The bass was caught with jerk bait style lures. Park staff has spotted several small bass near the North fishing dock right near the surface at around 3-4 inch depth just cruising. Please practice catch and release for bass, as they are not stocked into the lake and their population depends on you!
